Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Evening Auction, which included the work Camouflage by Lee Krasner. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,500,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,732,001.00 (€ 3,204,259.47). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lee Krasner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Eye Is The First Circle, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 11,654,000.00 (€ 10,452,955.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Camouflage von Lee Krasner zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 3.500.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 3.732.001,00 (€ 3.204.259,47) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Lee Krasner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Eye Is The First Circle beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 11.654.000,00 (€ 10.452.955,42) versteigert wurde.
