This artwork by Lawrence Schiller achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in June 2008. In the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Marilyn Monroe sold for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,690.23) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lawrence Schiller - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portfolio, "Marilyn" (Shot on the Set of "Something's Gotta Give"), which sold at auction in April 2021 for USD 24,062.50 (€ 20,002.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 96 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lawrence Schiller erzielte im Juni 2008 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Marilyn Monroe für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.690,23) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Schiller mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portfolio, "Marilyn" (Shot on the Set of "Something's Gotta Give") beobachtet, die im April 2021 für USD 24.062,50 (€ 20.002,08) versteigert wurde.
