Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Wetlands by Latiff Mohidin was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 11,250.00 (€ 1,267.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Latiff Mohidin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 1,062,500.00 (€ 122,793.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Wetlands von Latiff Mohidin kam im April 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 11.250,00 (€ 1.267,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Latiff Mohidin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.062.500,00 (€ 122.793,85).
