Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Latiff Mohidin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2016. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Self Portrait With Landscapes (A Set Of Three) sold for HKD 52,500.00 (€ 5,914.91) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Latiff Mohidin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 1,062,500.00 (€ 122,793.85).
