Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 'Social Context' by Larry Fink was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,770.45). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Larry Fink achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 82 Photographs 1974 To 1982, (Social Graces) in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 48,000.00 (€ 38,022.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 'Social Context' von Larry Fink im März 2009 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.770,45) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Larry Fink erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 82 Photographs 1974 To 1982, (Social Graces) im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 48.000,00 (€ 38.022,81).
