Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Larkin Goldsmith Mead could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Venezia changed hands for USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,188.37) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Larkin Goldsmith Mead - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Venezia, which sold at auction in May 2003 for USD 38,240.00 (€ 32,500.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Larkin Goldsmith Mead konnte im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Venezia für USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.188,37) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Larkin Goldsmith Mead mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Venezia beobachtet, die im Mai 2003 für USD 38.240,00 (€ 32.500,42) versteigert wurde.
