Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Menam River by Lan Yinding was auctioned at Christies in Taipei in October 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of TWD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for TWD 282,000.00 (€ 9,062.38). Admittedly, works by Lan Yinding have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Living beside the river in October 2002 with an auction result of HKD 478,000.00 (€ 62,017.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Menam River von Lan Yinding im Oktober 2001 bei Christies in Taipeh versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von TWD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für TWD 282.000,00 (€ 9.062,38) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lan Yinding auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Living beside the river im Oktober 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 478.000,00 (€ 62.017,61).
