In July 2003 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction SOUTHEAST ASIAN AND 20TH CENTURY INDIAN PICTURES, which included the work Man by Lalu Prasad Shaw. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 33,460.00 (€ 3,484.62), 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Lalu Prasad Shaw have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Woman With Flower in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,658.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2003 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion SOUTHEAST ASIAN AND 20TH CENTURY INDIAN PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man von Lalu Prasad Shaw zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 33.460,00 (€ 3.484,62) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lalu Prasad Shaw auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Woman With Flower im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.658,81).
