Edo period (1615-1868), early 19th century
A koban tate-e surimono print titled Hisakataya juban no uchi (A Set of 10 Designs for the Hisakataya Circle), depicting a samurai's porter carrying a sword, bow, and a quiver over his shoulder, the head and shoulders of a woman from a wealthy household, and the sun rising above young pine saplings, each image within a differently-shaped cartouche, with two poems by Amanoya Wakashiba, signed with a seal Shunman; mounted on card. 19.5cm x 13.4cm (7 11/16 x 5¼in).
