In May 2019 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Winter Landscape by Koo Mei. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 40,000.00 (€ 4,577.99), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Koo Mei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Majestic Panorama in May last year with an auction result of HKD 327,600.00 (€ 38,893.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2019 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Winter Landscape von Koo Mei zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 40.000,00 (€ 4.577,99) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Koo Mei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Majestic Panorama im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 327.600,00 (€ 38.893,15).
