Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Landscape by Koo Mei was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April this year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 10,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 36,000.00 (€ 36,763.04). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Koo Mei; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Majestic Panorama sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of HKD 327,600.00 (€ 38,893.15).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Landscape von Koo Mei im April diesen Jahres bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 10.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 36.000,00 (€ 36.763,04) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Koo Mei; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit A Majestic Panorama im Mai letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 327.600,00 (€ 38.893,15).
