Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Koo Mei could be acquired at Christies in New York in August this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Cloud and Mist in the Mountain Valley changed hands for HKD 27,720.00 (€ 3,260.73) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Koo Mei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Majestic Panorama in May last year with an auction result of HKD 327,600.00 (€ 38,893.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Koo Mei konnte im August diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Summer Reverie: Chinese Paintings Online wechselte die Arbeit Cloud and Mist in the Mountain Valley für HKD 27.720,00 (€ 3.260,73) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Koo Mei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Majestic Panorama im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 327.600,00 (€ 38.893,15).
