Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Uki-e Edo Ryogokubashi yusuzumi no zu (Perspective view of the evening cool at Ryogoku Bridge in the eastern capital) by Kitao Masayoshi was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2003. The price achieved of USD 2,868.00 (€ 2,631.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kitao Masayoshi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kaihaku Raikin Zui (Illustrated Catalogue Of Birds From Overseas), which sold at auction in September 2021 for USD 11,250.00 (€ 9,717.54).

Die Arbeit Uki-e Edo Ryogokubashi yusuzumi no zu (Perspective view of the evening cool at Ryogoku Bridge in the eastern capital) von Kitao Masayoshi kam im März 2003 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.868,00 (€ 2.631,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden.
