a) Five chûban from the series Hyaku Fuji. Views from various areas, such as Enoshima and Nagasaki. Each signed: Kitao Masayoshi ga. Publisher: ...gadô. b) Six chûban from the series Ômi hakkei. Views of the lake from the famous points: Sunset in Seta; Clearing weather in Awazu; Rain at Karasaki, etc. Each signed: Kitao Masayoshi ga. Ca. 1790. Both series rare. (11) Good to very good impressions, still good colours, strong traces of usage, backed.
Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2016 Lempertz in Cologne held the auction Asiatische Kunst - Highlights China, Tibet/Nepal, which included the work a) Five chûban from the series Hyaku Fuji by Kitao Masayoshi. The price achieved of EUR 930.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 800.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kitao Masayoshi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kaihaku Raikin Zui (Illustrated Catalogue Of Birds From Overseas) in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 11,250.00 (€ 9,717.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2016 führte Lempertz in Köln die Auktion Asiatische Kunst - Highlights China, Tibet/Nepal durch, in der auch die Arbeit a) Five chûban from the series Hyaku Fuji von Kitao Masayoshi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 930,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 800,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kitao Masayoshi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kaihaku Raikin Zui (Illustrated Catalogue Of Birds From Overseas) im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 9.717,54).
