Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2015 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale), which included this untitled work by Kim Whan-Ki. The price achieved of HKD 2,920,000.00 (€ 356,637.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 2,200,000.00 – 3,200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kim Whan-Ki achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 05-IV-71 #200 (Universe) in November 2019 with an auction result of HKD 101,955,000.00 (€ 11,824,892.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2015 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Kim Whan-Ki zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 2.920.000,00 (€ 356.637,00) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 2.200.000,00 – 3.200.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kim Whan-Ki erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 05-IV-71 #200 (Universe) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 101.955.000,00 (€ 11.824.892,46).
