Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Rat Box by Kim Jones was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,250.00 (€ 1,826.30). Other works by Kim Jones have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April last year by the work Untitled, 1984-90-2005-06 at EUR 3,528.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Rat Box von Kim Jones im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.250,00 (€ 1.826,30) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Kim Jones wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im April letzten Jahres die Arbeit Untitled, 1984-90-2005-06 mit EUR 3.528,00.
