Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Bonhams held the auction Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art, which included the work Looking Back at the Rat Piece, circa 1980 by Kim Jones. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,211.25 (€ 1,097.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kim Jones - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled, 1984-90-2005-06, which sold at auction in April last year for EUR 3,528.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Looking Back at the Rat Piece, circa 1980 von Kim Jones zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.211,25 (€ 1.097,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Kim Jones mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled, 1984-90-2005-06 beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für EUR 3.528,00 versteigert wurde.
