This artwork by Kiichi Asano achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2019. In the Photographs auction, the work 'Himi', February, 1956 sold for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,942.69) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Kiichi Asano; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 'A Rainy Commencement Ceremony', 1953; And Untitled (From The Series The Gion Quarter), 1956 sold at auction in May 2019 with the realized price of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,074.63).
