Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Harbour scene, Baghdad by Khaled Al-Jadir was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,875.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Khaled Al-Jadir achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady in October 2010 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 37,786.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Harbour scene, Baghdad von Khaled Al-Jadir im September 2012 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.875,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Khaled Al-Jadir erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 37.786,09).
