In November 2016 Christies in London held the auction The Leslie Waddington Collection Part II, which included the work Pier and Ocean by Kenneth Martin. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,917.34), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kenneth Martin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chance and Order 18 (Black) in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 103,663.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im November 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Leslie Waddington Collection Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pier and Ocean von Kenneth Martin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.917,34) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kenneth Martin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chance and Order 18 (Black) im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 103.663,87).
