Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Linoprint (Black And Grey) (See Carey/Griffiths 181) by Kenneth Martin for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,317.60). This price was achieved in the auction Made in Britain at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kenneth Martin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chance and Order 18 (Black) in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 103,663.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Linoprint (Black And Grey) (See Carey/Griffiths 181) von Kenneth Martin für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.317,60) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Made in Britain bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kenneth Martin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chance and Order 18 (Black) im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 103.663,87).
