Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Australian Untitled by Ken Whisson was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 36,000.00 (€ 21,527.16). Other works by Ken Whisson have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2007 by the work Australian Earth, Houses And Vehicle at AUD 48,000.00 (€ 28,915.03).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Australian Untitled von Ken Whisson im August 2007 bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 36.000,00 (€ 21.527,16) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Ken Whisson wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2007 die Arbeit Australian Earth, Houses And Vehicle mit AUD 48.000,00 (€ 28.915,03).
