In February 2008 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Topographical Observations: Picture your world, which included the work View from the artist's studio, Haarlem by Kees Verwey. The result of EUR 2,500.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kees Verwey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work De Stoel In De Zon (Atelier Impressie) in June 2001 with an auction result of NLG 82,250.00 (€ 39,533.19).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Februar 2008 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Topographical Observations: Picture your world durch, in der auch die Arbeit View from the artist's studio, Haarlem von Kees Verwey zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 2.500,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kees Verwey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit De Stoel In De Zon (Atelier Impressie) im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 82.250,00 (€ 39.533,19).
