Upper estimate price exceeded by 29 %.
In April last year Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Day Auction, which included the work Twilight of Edo by Kazuo Shiraga. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 10,297,000.00 (€ 1,244,982.25), 29% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Kazuo Shiraga have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Takao in June 2018 with an auction result of EUR 8,731,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 29 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Twilight of Edo von Kazuo Shiraga zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 10.297.000,00 (€ 1.244.982,25) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kazuo Shiraga auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Takao im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 8.731.400,00.
