Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (From The Poughkeepsie Journal) by Katy Grannan was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,375.00 (€ 2,038.98). Admittedly, works by Katy Grannan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Anonymous, Los Angeles in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,157.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (From The Poughkeepsie Journal) von Katy Grannan im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.375,00 (€ 2.038,98) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Katy Grannan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Anonymous, Los Angeles im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 20.157,68).
