Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The wrestlers Otani Hiroji III and Nakamura Sukegoro II by Katsukawa Shunshō was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art Including the Collection of David and Nayda Utterberg auction at Christies in New York in March last year. The price achieved of USD 2,520.00 (€ 2,271.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katsukawa Shunshō achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beauty writing a letter, ca. 1789-92 in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 72,000.00 (€ 56,751.00).

Die Arbeit The wrestlers Otani Hiroji III and Nakamura Sukegoro II von Katsukawa Shunshō wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art Including the Collection of David and Nayda Utterberg bei Christies in New York versteigert.
