Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July last year Sothebys in London held the auction Masters of the Woodblock: Important Japanese Prints, which included the work The courtesan Hanaogi of the Ogiya house (Ogiya, Hanaogi) by Katsukawa Shunshō. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 40,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 40,320.00 (€ 48,149.24). Other works by Katsukawa Shunshō have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 72,000.00 (€ 56,751.00) in September 2006 for the work Beauty writing a letter, ca. 1789-92.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Masters of the Woodblock: Important Japanese Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit The courtesan Hanaogi of the Ogiya house (Ogiya, Hanaogi) von Katsukawa Shunshō zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 40.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 40.320,00 (€ 48.149,24) einen neuen Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Katsukawa Shunshō haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von USD 72.000,00 (€ 56.751,00) im September 2006 für die Arbeit Beauty writing a letter, ca. 1789-92 beobachtet.
