Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Katsukawa Shunshō was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in September last year. The price achieved of USD 1,211.25 (€ 1,238.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katsukawa Shunshō achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beauty writing a letter, ca. 1789-92 in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 72,000.00 (€ 56,751.00).

Die Arbeit Unknown von Katsukawa Shunshō kam im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.211,25 (€ 1.238,12) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden.
