Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The actor Sakata Hangoro by Katsukawa Shunshō was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in Los Angeles in September this year. The price achieved of USD 2,520.00 (€ 2,380.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katsukawa Shunshō achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beauty writing a letter, ca. 1789-92 in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 72,000.00 (€ 56,751.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The actor Sakata Hangoro von Katsukawa Shunshō wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in Los Angeles versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.520,00 (€ 2.380,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Katsukawa Shunshō erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beauty writing a letter, ca. 1789-92 im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 72.000,00 (€ 56.751,00).
