Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Portrait Of Diana Sturt, Later Lady Milner (1758-1805), Three-Quarter-Length, In A Blue Cloak Trimmed With Ermine And Holding A Cittern by Catherine Read was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,766.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Catherine Read have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2012 the work Portrait of Lady Isabella Stanhope, later Countess of Sefton (1748-1819), half-length, in Hussar's costume, with a blue pelisse over a braided red dolman was auctioned for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,238.28).

Die Arbeit A Portrait Of Diana Sturt, Later Lady Milner (1758-1805), Three-Quarter-Length, In A Blue Cloak Trimmed With Ermine And Holding A Cittern von Catherine Read kam im Dezember 2013 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.766,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
