Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work French Shepherdess On The Banks Of The River by Karl Daubigny for USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,842.14). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Karl Daubigny - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La plage, which sold at auction in October 2006 for USD 36,000.00 (€ 28,184.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit French Shepherdess On The Banks Of The River von Karl Daubigny für USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.842,14) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Karl Daubigny mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La plage beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für USD 36.000,00 (€ 28.184,45) versteigert wurde.
