Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French Bateau Sur La Riviere by Karl Daubigny was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,289.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Karl Daubigny have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La plage in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 36,000.00 (€ 28,184.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit French Bateau Sur La Riviere von Karl Daubigny kam im November 2008 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.289,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Karl Daubigny auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La plage im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 36.000,00 (€ 28.184,45).
