Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sous-Bois by Karl Daubigny was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in June 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 4,375.00. Admittedly, works by Karl Daubigny have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La plage in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 36,000.00 (€ 28,184.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sous-Bois von Karl Daubigny im Juni 2016 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 4.375,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Karl Daubigny auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La plage im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 36.000,00 (€ 28.184,45).
