Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The house on the river by Karl Heffner was sold in the British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper auction at Christies in London in February 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,543.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Karl Heffner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Dutch waterway at dusk, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,238.11).

Die Arbeit The house on the river von Karl Heffner wurde im Februar 2003 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.057,50 (€ 1.543,92) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Karl Heffner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Dutch waterway at dusk beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 2.880,00 (€ 4.238,11) versteigert wurde.
