Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Bonhams held the auction Deck the WallsPrints & Multiples, which included the work The Sparkly Splendid Lippazanner at the Battle of Austerlitz by Karen Kilimnik. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of USD 408.00 (€ 381.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Karen Kilimnik achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Prince Albrecht at Home at the Castle on School Break in October 2011 with an auction result of GBP 337,250.00 (€ 390,302.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Deck the WallsPrints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Sparkly Splendid Lippazanner at the Battle of Austerlitz von Karen Kilimnik zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 408,00 (€ 381,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Karen Kilimnik erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Prince Albrecht at Home at the Castle on School Break im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 337.250,00 (€ 390.302,74).
