Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2024 a collector was able to acquire the work Mutter mit jungen by Käthe Kollwitz for USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,678.03). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Multiples at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Käthe Kollwitz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work „Abschied“. in October 2018 with an auction result of EUR 437,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2024 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Mutter mit jungen von Käthe Kollwitz für USD 1.920,00 (€ 1.678,03) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Käthe Kollwitz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit „Abschied“. im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 437.500,00.
