In November last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Jal-Thal-Nabh Image size (in) 11.5 x 16.25 by Jyoti Bhatt. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,167.50 (€ 2,511.64), 45% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jyoti Bhatt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pouncing of Kombhodara in September 2019 with an auction result of USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,217.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 45 % übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jal-Thal-Nabh Image size (in) 11.5 x 16.25 von Jyoti Bhatt zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.167,50 (€ 2.511,64) und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jyoti Bhatt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pouncing of Kombhodara im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 25.217,79).
