In November 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work You Didn't Take Me into Account by Julio Galán. The »bidding war« ended at USD 40,000.00 (€ 35,326.33), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Julio Galán have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Silenzio in September last year with an auction result of USD 201,600.00 (€ 206,071.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im November 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit You Didn't Take Me into Account von Julio Galán zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 35.326,33) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Julio Galán auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Silenzio im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 201.600,00 (€ 206.071,76).
