Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Phillips in New York held the auction Latin America, which included this untitled work by Julio Galán. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 41,359.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Julio Galán have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Silenzio in September last year with an auction result of USD 201,600.00 (€ 206,071.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2016 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Latin America durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Julio Galán zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 41.359,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Julio Galán auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Silenzio im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 201.600,00 (€ 206.071,76).
