Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Un amour en trompe-l'oeil by Julio Galán. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 41,359.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Julio Galán have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Silenzio in September last year with an auction result of USD 201,600.00 (€ 206,071.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Un amour en trompe-l'oeil von Julio Galán zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 41.359,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Julio Galán auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Silenzio im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 201.600,00 (€ 206.071,76).
