It achieved a price of USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,286.85), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Admittedly, works by Julio Galán have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Silenzio in September last year with an auction result of USD 201,600.00 (€ 206,071.76).

Die Arbeit Restaurante Residence von Julio Galán wurde im November 2018 in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 24.286,85) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Julio Galán auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Silenzio im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 201.600,00 (€ 206.071,76).
