This artwork by Julian Onderdonk achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Los Angeles in June 2002. In the CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS auction, the work Field of Texas Bluebonnets and Prickly Pear Cacti sold for USD 207,500.00 (€ 210,531.66) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Julian Onderdonk; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Bluebonnets at Dawn, North of San Antonio sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of USD 403,200.00 (€ 375,733.86).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Julian Onderdonk erzielte im Juni 2002 bei Christies in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS wurde die Arbeit Field of Texas Bluebonnets and Prickly Pear Cacti für USD 207.500,00 (€ 210.531,66) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Julian Onderdonk; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Bluebonnets at Dawn, North of San Antonio im Mai letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 403.200,00 (€ 375.733,86).
