Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2018 Christies in New York held the auction First Open Online: Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work WTF! by Julia Wachtel. It changed hands for a price of USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,366.97) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julia Wachtel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape No. 13 (backyard), which sold at auction in May 2017 for USD 68,750.00 (€ 61,187.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open Online: Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit WTF! von Julia Wachtel zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.366,97) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Julia Wachtel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape No. 13 (backyard) beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für USD 68.750,00 (€ 61.187,26) versteigert wurde.
