Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Red Cloak by Jules Joseph Lefebvre was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2019. The price achieved of USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,326.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jules Joseph Lefebvre achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Morning Glory in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 218,500.00 (€ 172,291.44).
