In October this year Christies in Paris held the auction European Art, which included the work Odalisque by Jules Joseph Lefebvre. The »bidding war« ended at USD 30,240.00 (€ 28,614.69), 51% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jules Joseph Lefebvre have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Morning Glory in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 218,500.00 (€ 172,291.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Odalisque von Jules Joseph Lefebvre zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 28.614,69) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jules Joseph Lefebvre auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Morning Glory im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 218.500,00 (€ 172.291,44).
