This work of art by Jules Joseph Lefebvre could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the European Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work An Italian Girl With An Orange changed hands for USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,706.41) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jules Joseph Lefebvre achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Morning Glory in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 218,500.00 (€ 172,291.44).
