This artwork by Judy Cassab achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Sidney in May last year. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work Abstract sold for AUD 1,968.00 (€ 1,833.94) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Judy Cassab - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Girl with Bruegel 2, which sold at auction in August 2003 for AUD 6,462.50 (€ 3,817.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 97 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Judy Cassab erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Sidney einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Australian Art wurde die Arbeit Abstract für AUD 1.968,00 (€ 1.833,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 1.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Judy Cassab mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Girl with Bruegel 2 beobachtet, die im August 2003 für AUD 6.462,50 (€ 3.817,73) versteigert wurde.
