In December 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures, which included the work A Furtive Glance; And Figures Before The Paris Opera House by Juan Soler. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,717.66), 67% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Juan Soler; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Buying flowers in a Parisian street sold at auction in February 2001 with the realized price of GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,154.64).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.717,66) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Juan Soler; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Buying flowers in a Parisian street im Februar 2001 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 3.290,00 (€ 5.154,64).
