Sold at the upper estimate price
In November 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Helechos En La Sierra Buscando La Luz by Juan Manuel Hernández. The auction ended at the price of USD 35,000.00 (€ 25,723.95), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Juan Manuel Hernández - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work El Encuentro I And Ii (Dyptich), which sold at auction in November 2010 for USD 107,500.00 (€ 82,463.95).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Helechos En La Sierra Buscando La Luz von Juan Manuel Hernández zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 25.723,95) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Juan Manuel Hernández mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit El Encuentro I And Ii (Dyptich) beobachtet, die im November 2010 für USD 107.500,00 (€ 82.463,95) versteigert wurde.
