Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Self Portrait by Jozef Israëls was sold in the British and European Art auction at Bonhams in March this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,925.00 (€ 10,153.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jozef Israëls achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch dreams (Dolce Far Niente) in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 293,000.00 (€ 225,592.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Self Portrait von Jozef Israëls wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion British and European Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.925,00 (€ 10.153,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jozef Israëls erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch dreams (Dolce Far Niente) im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 293.000,00 (€ 225.592,85).
